About Us

Hi! My name is Rachel!

I'm 27 years old and I teach 5/6th grade Math, Social Studies and 5th grade ELA at a Catholic School. I am married to my honey bunch Darrell!

Here he is with our very first furbaby Ellie. Darrell is a jack of all trades - He has interests all over the board and researches all of them until he's an expert. That must be the engineer in him.. did I mention he's an engineer?

We met in college and have been together since 2007. We live in upstate NY near the Canadian border, about 90 minutes away from both of our families. It's trying at times but we have made some fabulous friends here and I wouldn't trade our life for the world!

We've lived in our current house since 2008 and are trying to simultaneously sell it/pack things/build a new house/finish a hunting camp we built last year but still need to put log siding on/raise our little Ellie/see family/and oh yeah, work!

I decided to start this blog so family and friends, near and far, can have an glimpse into our lives - especially since we live quite far from most of them. So! enjoy the updates - I'll update primarily on house things as they come up, since that's the biggest hurdle we're jumping right now, and I'll try to throw in some other things here and there as well.
